Development of Heart Sound Acquisition and Diagnosis System for Congenital Heart Defects

■概 要
Congenital heart defects (CHDs) are formed before birth, especially threatening the health of children. However, CHDs could be cured if it is detected at early stage. Heart sound is generated by the beating heart and the resultant flow of blood through the valves. The heart sound contains useful pathological information for heart disease diagnosis. Heart sound is usually auscultated at four typical places, the aortic, pulmonic, tricuspid and mitral areas. Since it is difficult to auscultate the children patients, in our researches an auscultation vest was designed and developed, which contains four stethoscopes and can record four channels’ heart sounds simultaneously. To improve the diagnosis accuracy several data processing methods and an efficient classifier with the SVM technique were developed for clinic examination applications.
