Dear Colleague,
This note brings the Call for Papers for a special issue of the International Journal of Engine Research on the important topic of "Spray-Wall Interactions in Direct-Injection Engines." The special-issue editors are Todd Fansler & Mario Trujillo of the UW-Madison Engine Research Center and Eric Curtis of Ford Motor Company.
As explained more fully in the attached Call for Papers, this special issue will consider all aspects of engine spray-wall interactions:
Fundamental physics of spray impingement, wall interaction and fuel film behavior
Numerical simulation of spray-wall interactions relevant to DI SI & CI engines
Experimental measurements of engine spray-wall interactions
Effects of spray-wall impingement and wall wetting
Reducing spray-wall impingement and mitigating its effects
If you or your colleagues are interested in contributing to this special issue, please email a 250-word abstract to the special-issue editors by September 15, 2018. Full manuscripts will be due January 15, 2019. The target date for publication is January 2020.
